Our Core Beliefs:

I believe in being of service both as a professional and as a human being.  I believe in providing each of my clients with the most honest and complete accounting program that I can.  One that is tailored specifically to fit their  needs.  As part of that process I believe my clients are best served when I  understand all facets of their business and personal profile.

More About Us:  Willie's Story

Humble beginnings,

Many years ago I took $10.00 and rented an office space. I borrowed some supplies and opened a small business. I found some red paint and painted a sign, and I started my work. I successfully operated  that business for 15 years. As my work progressed and expanded I realized that I needed to know more about contracts, so, at 40 years of age, I went back to school.

I enrolled in the local junior college to further my education.  I am convinced that my desire to return to school was somehow directed, because through school I found my true calling.

During my first semester I took courses in accounting, income tax preparation, and Business Law. To my joy I got high marks in those classes and fell in love with tax charts, numbers and the notion of understanding the complex science of accounting.

During the winter of 1981 the school offered a volunteer program for seniors and low income taxpayers called the “Volunteer Income Tax Assistance” (VITA) program. I saw this as an opportunity to be of service to my community, as well as a way to learn more about my field. It was clear that I was on the right career track and so I switched to a state university that specialized in accounting.courses.

While I don't believe in accidents, I do believe that when a door opens I need to be ready to walk through it if it appears to be a move forward. One of those doors opened for me when I went to the University of Southern California to help my daughter enroll. We had a chance to meet her department chairperson and he asked me why I didn’t enroll along with my daughter.  I told him that it was my dream to graduate from USC, but I explained that I just couldn't afford tuition for both she and I.

Never-the-less, he asked me to send him my transcripts. Soon I found myself actually enrolled as a student at USC, and not long after I graduated a proud USC Trojan. After graduation I went on to do post graduate work and establish TaxGuy1.

I am grateful that I am one of the few people who's vocation is also their avocation. I am also grateful for the support of my family and friends and my wonderful clients.

Now, in my 40th year as a tax professional, I am more excited than ever about my job, and my future.

I look forward to being able to serve you with your tax preparation and business accounting needs.
